I am working on a new game right now. I have made a rly crappy paint image which i will post when i can.
Things i need to know.

Can we do ladders?
Windows that break?
Helicopter drop offs / pick ups?
Walls that break?
C4? to break walls, or just for fun?
A money bonus system? like when you kill a bad guy you get money toward buying guns.
A gun buying system and upgrades for guns?

I might also make the game with a multiplayer to it.

If these things can be done i will continue to make the game and then make a post with the title and some maps and a description.

Also, i think we should have an area in the forums for posting our game ideas.

P.S. remember that i can't code the games, just make the ideas, and draw some maps. and such.

I think most if not all of it could be done. I think the hardest bits ( or the bits which will take most code /cpu) would be the heli drop off (it would have to be the same for each time you play the level) and the wall (because theres so many bricks in a wall it would be a lot of vertices and cpu intensive). The rest could be done.

At least I hope so =)

yea, the heli drop off and pick up will be the same. it is a mission brief at first and then just the heli lands on the map, u walk over, and the map is over.

but i rly want the weapon system i have, kills give u money, then u can buy guns to use for other levels, and add silencers maybe, and like red dot or something.

the wall could be crapy and just vanish when shot. lol. if u guys want. but i want to have the c4 planted and have it blow up. that would be cooler.

can some1 confirm that this can be done?

and switch from ur pistol to ur gun / from ur gun to the pistol.

An extra that is possible is stuff like fire, water, rain, electricity and smoke type effects.
I have also added a hacking console which you go up to and a massage appears (F to hack) and you hold F for 10 seconds to open the console. If you leave the console the timer resets.

If people post some good huds which i can use instead of just writing post em. These huds are like a series of huds exectly the same except they act like a timer and have an extra bar/ one bar less as you are hacking.

k, instead of ladders, can we do stairs?

sounds gud. could the window be like a vent instead? that u shoot and then crawl inside of it??

could a scene be the mission brief in the heli?? if not i will do a mission briefing screen.

that will be nice. how do u make them crumble? could it be by shooting it? or when u get close the wall just breaks?

alright. let me know when you get them done.

i like my money system idea. lol

at least gun buying. upgrades like, extended clip or something like that. random stuff really.

I doubt that, but if that does happen, Ill let you know.

I would have thought ladders would have been possible. Just do a quick scan to see how far away, if in reach then press space or something, then limit the movement to the y-axis only so that the player is climbing the ladder...

Stairs would be possible, and im sure that you could have vents as well.

I reckon you could make a damage variable for each weapon, so that different weapons take different health from the enemy.

Just my thoughts again...

By the way, what language will the game be written in? Or what program?
As far as i know, most of that stuff is possible in DBPro.

Dammage alteration is entirely possible along with stairs. The walls need to be shot to be broken. Have i missed anything?

Ladders. They may be possible with a bit of work. I can have doors which are opened with a switch or key or when player comes near. With switches that includes when a zone is stepped in or when entity/character is destroyed.

i dont know coding so i can't write the game. i will just sketch map ideas then post them, and give u guys background info.

i will also tell u which guns do more, the costs of the guns to buy.

and head, the pistol / knife idea. u missed that.

and just let me know if you can get ladders to work, otherwise i will switch them to stairs.

Well what you can do is assign the weapons numbers 1 - 9 on the pad for quick change.

With the weapons, what i normally do is set enemies health to 100 and then set the following for each gun:

Name:
Accuracy: (0 Being spot on)
Reload Quantity: (the ammount of shots per mag)
Dammage:

E.G.

Name: R700
Accuracy: 2
Reload Quantity: 4
Dammage: 100

Knives would work on the same principle, except theyre short range only and have an accuracy of 0.

A knife is slightly different. It has no reload quantity or accuracy. Now back to find somewhere where i can upload everything to.

and for an upgrade i want to make it so like a normal AK clip might be 5, but with an extended mag. it might be 10. something like that. (not real numbers)

in java for this, i know you could write an if statement. make a variable for extended clips and if x == 1 then so on and so forth. but idk what you could do for ur coding.

and all guns would have to be unlocked so u would have to make it so that u can't just click the button and the gun would come out, you would have to make sure that the gun was bought first. but i wanted to have it so you could only carry up to 1 main gun at a time and 1 pistol.

also for damage could you set it so if you got hit in the head the damage doubles?? or will the damage set be that no matter where you get hit / hit an enemy.

This should be possible, with something like

If ak.upgrade = 1
ak.mag = 10
else
ak.mag = 5
endif

Head shots should be fairly easy as well. In dbpro, you can check for collision, then position a dummy object at the enemies head and check for collision against this dummy object. Or just say if collision position y is greater then enemy position y then its a head shot so damage is doubled.

Hows the idea coming along?

The largest accuracy I have is a shotgun on 35. Ammo clips can be altered. When you pick up a weapon the amount that you pick up can increase. For different acts, weapons can be upgraded eg increase dammage and this is shown by different cammos. I'm working on a red tiger, blue tiger, digital, woodland, scilencer, red dot sight and scopes. Lazer sights may be possible in the near future. I'll post some weapon screenys in the afternoon.

in cod4, like the bule tiger and red tiger, etc. can we track the ammount of headshots we have in the game? maybe for SP and / or MP??

EDIT:

I want to make it like CoD rly. Where you pick the gun for the mission and your pistol and the main weapon goes into the #1 slot. pistol #2 slot. knife #3 slot. nade in the #4 slot. and maybe clays / c4 in the #5 slot. something to this nature.

but i rly want to have a mission brief screen and then after that you pick the weapons you want to have for the mission.
its a sniper mission. so i want the sniper. so the sniper becomes the #1 slot. or i want the AK, so now this gun is in the #1 slot.

can this be done?

0 is the most accurate, 35 is the least, so the shotgun (accuracy 35) has the largest spread of shots.

Always 1, but with few shots per reload, at close distance, they have to make each shot count
